This is the Singapore condo price trend for the past 15 years -
an increase of 102%!
You can observe that there have only been two dips -
in years 2014, and 2019.
What had actually happen back then?
By putting on the world crisis overlays on the above chart, we see exactly which world events caused prices to take a hit.
In 2014, it was due to the Avian Flu Crisis. And in the more recent 2019, we experienced the Covid 19 Pandemic.
The market had reacted negatively, but due to its resilience built over the years, prices rebounded strongly in the following year and stayed on the upward trend.
The rest of the world events did not affect the Singapore property market.
Prices still grew strongly.
How did the market react to the implementation of the various cooling measures then?
As you can see from the chart with the cooling measures overlays,
prices have continued to increase even with every new cooling measure.
